For his exhibition in TEOR/éTica, Guatemalan artist Moisés Barrios (1946) presented a series of paintings that originated from a publication printed in Guatemala in 1897, “a magazine with cultural and commercial pretentions that sought to ‘publicize’ the Pacific as an area of progress and development.” As part of this exhibition, TEOR/éTica published this catalogue compiling images from the series Illustration of the Pacific as well as investigative texts by Anabella Acevedo and Virginia Pérez-Ratton.
