TEOR/éTica opened its doors to the public in 1999 with the exhibition 400 meters North from the Morazán Kiosk, by Uruguayan artist Carlos Capelán (Montevideo, 1948). It aimed to be a reflection on Place and Memory through works that alluded to the traditional way of giving an address in San José, where references of local and popular nature are used to provide directions and not the designated nomenclature of the city.
