This book compiles nine conferences on different aspects of visual production in Latin America, carried out in TEOR/éTica from March to November 2004 under the name Latin American Artistic Situations. The texts that make up this series of conferences were organized around the art of our America; they sought to provide greater access to important art figures or referential art movements, to present unknown or poorly explored facets of artistic development in a country or region, and to discuss more general topics applied to specific examples from Latin America.
