Area of Turbulence: Art in Nicaragua, from the Revolution to Neoliberalism compiles ten essays by the artist, writer and Nicaraguan editor Raúl Quintanilla Armijo written between 1985 and 2002. Quintanilla has been one of the most active critical voices in Nicaragua and Central America since the eighties . This book aims to highlight the importance of its hybrid production has shifted between artistic production, editing publications and creating independent spaces. In the midst of all this, his writing has remained his favorite critical vehicle: an insolent, corrosive writing that does not make concessions, which has managed to disturb the dream of artists, writers, politicians and cultural managers of the established art circuit.
