ABOUT THE EXHIBITION
Synergies, dialogues and appropriations
DOWNLOADABLE POSTER OF THE EXHIBITION
JULY 22th 2015
Collaborations always involve a process of integration, as well as reciprocity and appropriation. During the last decades, the approaches regarding the function of the art-object and of the artist are related to the construction of spaces of dialogue and meeting in which that relationship between art and context works as a gap, a focal point for ideas and critical thought. From this perspective, the initiative of “Synergies” operates as a laboratory for the construction of this elements, having invited to participate diverse creators, of interesting processes in the visual production scene of Costa Rica.
From the Experimental School of Art in Tegucigalpa (EAT), we were interested in generating from a experience of collaborations, a point of encounter from which the space of creation would be transformed into a production practice the flows through a mechanism of reflection that brings both the artists and the public together in a dynamic interaction. This interaction marked by the creation strategies that each artist addresses everyday in his career. From this, is possible to identify that many of the planned proposals shift in between the mechanisms of collaboration and environmental appropriation, on occasions, making of the risk and the illicit, the fundamental key for the interpretation of the object in question, generating with it a meaningful experience.
