Pop Colonialism was presented in 2001 in TEOR/éTica to provide a look at the work of Colombian artist Nadín Ospina (Bogotá, 1960) who merges the shapes of famous cartoon characters with traditional pre-Columbian art, making a humorous and ironic comment on what is considered to be a popular and “global” culture. The catalogue includes academic texts by Virginia Pérez-Ratton and Tamara Díaz Bringas, curators of the exhibition.
